The paths Arianna and Noah's lives have taken are not the paths they set out on, and every moment is examined by both characters to provide a final reveal of what really happened to Noah in an effortless and organic way. Noah's experiences are the stuff of any parent's worst nightmares, but Ms. Sparks handles these unsettling flashbacks with a delicate and sensitive hand.
I highly recommend this book and hope you will enjoy Arianna and Noah's story as much as I did. Lost Cause reminded me so much of some of the heartbreaking, coming-of-age stories of Judy Blume I so loved growing up, and I am so excited to share my review with you.

Wow, this book is amazing. Right from the start, I was captivated, and just couldn't stop reading it. It's been a while since I've read any NA books, and this one was extremely well written. The content gets pretty dark in places, but the topic is covered in such a tactful way.
I absolutely loved the different narrative styles and how they interacted with each other. The characterisation was great, and the chemistry between Noah and Ari was well-written and believable. I'll definitely be looking into more books by this author.
This book was really great even with the tough subject of sexual abuse. Noah and Ari are just two happy 10 year olds riding there bikes and tubing down the river. They become best friends. But little did Ari know that Noah's home life was not as it seemed. His absent father and his over friendly stepmom who begins to confide in Noah as a replacement for her husband. It's a really well written story that deals with a tough subject. I would highly recommend this book.
